We need more cassettes in the world! I've got cassette recorders, we've got great music on LNBeats, let's combine the two!
Here's how this works:
You mail me a postcard to:
bitpunk.fm
P.O. Box 273029
Fort Collins, CO 80525
You indicate:
- C-60 or C-90 (60 or 90 minute tape)
- Write a track list for Side A with the album and track from LNBeats
- Write a track list for Side B with the album and track from LNbeats
- The return address is where I will mail the tape (1 per handwritten postcard).
- You return the value with time, talent, and treasure. Examples:
- Time. Spreading the word about bitpunk.fm
- Talent. Submitting audio to bitpunk.fm (preferable something new but can be a link to existing work)
- Treasure. Send cash back to the P.O. Box. Mail me cassettes. Boost bitpunk.fm
- You also return value to the artists.

Why am I doing this?
To provide a service to the mainly Decentralized Music audience. These are indie musicians and nothing says indie like a cassette. I considered doing a cassette club thing but honestly, we all have different vibes in music. So you pick the music, I mail the tape.
Do I have to put my name on it?
No
Do I have to use my return address?
No. I don't know nor do I want to know if the address is yours or not.
What will you put on the cover/tape?
I'm keeping things pretty punk, so at best, I'll write out your track list. I might not depending on the tape. I might write something with a sharpie, draw a doodle. Give you a sticker.
It will have the music you picked though.
What happens if my music goes over the boundary of a side?
Please don't do this. I don't know what you want me to do. If you pick a C-60 but side A is 34 minutes what I will probably do is just stop recording at 30 minutes when the tape runs out. So please, plan the track list appropriately.
Will you mail it outside the United States?
Yes, but it is more expensive so please return value to me appropriately. If you can get a postcard to me, I can get a tape to you. It just might take a long time.
Can I order multiple tapes?
I'm limiting this to one handwritten post card per tape. If you want me to act as your label, then get in touch. But honestly, just make them yourself.
Can I get a quick turn around?
Dude, I'm doing this for the love of cassettes.
Why only LNBeats?
Because most of these people "get it," mostly.
What about paying the artists?
That's on you. You value their music so you zap their tracks. I listen to read poetry from the 1960s on vinyl and cassettes with an occasional Euro-centric house beat and noise stuff from people I like. This is why I'm not doing a cassette club because I doubt y'all would like the music I pick.
The way music works is you listen to a bunch of time, then you like it. That's why people say a track "grows on them." We spread the music and spread the love.
Also, this is why I'm doing this on cassette, not CDs. The people that are into cassettes are cool. They understand what's going on. Besides, if you want a CD, the mp3s can be ripped from the site directly.
And just to stay the obviously, you can already listen to all of this music, for free, on LNBeats.
Can I email/call/DM you?
No. We only communicate via postcard and cassette.
Well, how do I know if you received my postcard or if you sent the tape?
You don't. Welcome to how life used to work up until 10 years ago.
What if I send you a postcard and I don't receive a tape?
Then you are out a postcard. Maybe send another? Maybe my tape got lost, then I'm out a tape.
So are you making any guarantees?
No. Hopefully it all works. You send me a postcard, I mail you a free tape, and I'm hoping value is return. I like the optimism in this approach. The alternative is tracking the shit out of you and everything and we've are doing this now and I don't like it.
